That depends on the helicopter and where it must position from; there is no single minimum applied to every private-hire journey. If a minimum is relevant, it will be identified in the written proposal before you decide to proceed.

Across South East Queensland, options include our Archerfield Airport base, Holt Street Jetty Heliport, Mount Coot-tha, Brisbane Airport and Gold Coast Airport. Sanctuary Cove and Gold Coast Turf Club may also be available subject to permission and operational approval, while Bekaa Air is Tangalooma’s helicopter company of choice. We will recommend the most practical confirmed point for your route rather than presenting every location as a permanent base.

Potentially. A pilot must consider the surface and slope as well as trees, buildings, powerlines, livestock, people and safe approach and departure paths. Written permission from the landowner is mandatory before the site can be confirmed. Add the address to the charter planner and submit the journey so our operations team can assess the complete environment.

It is an indicative price designed to make early planning useful, not the final offer. We issue the written quote after checking aircraft availability and positioning, landing access, passenger weights, baggage, fuel and any special requirements. A journey without an instant result can still be submitted for individual assessment.

Soft duffel bags are strongly preferred because they use the available compartments safely and efficiently. The R44 suits lighter packing, whereas the larger turbine helicopters provide substantially more baggage room. Mention hard suitcases, prams, golf clubs or other oversized pieces in your request and we can match the journey with an appropriate aircraft.

They allow us to select the aircraft and calculate its safe usable seating. The R44 carries a maximum individual passenger weight of 130 kg; the larger turbine helicopters do not have that same individual limit, but every aircraft must remain within its payload and balance envelope. Fuel, baggage and the route can therefore reduce the number of seats available. Individual weights are requested accurately and handled discreetly.

Bekaa Air has maintained a flawless safety record and flies under a CASA-issued Air Operator’s Certificate with a formal Safety Management System. Commercially licensed pilots operate helicopters maintained to commercial standards. Each flight is assessed for weather, landing sites, passenger and baggage weights, fuel and operational risk; when conditions are unsuitable, we delay, change the plan or do not fly.

More notice provides greater choice of aircraft and departure times. Allowing two to four weeks is ideal for weddings and major events, while corporate transfers can often be organised within 24–48 hours. For most passenger-terminal connections, Holt Street Jetty Heliport can be the more practical choice. Bekaa Air has exclusive landing access there, the fees are substantially lower than operating at Brisbane Airport and the road transfer can be shorter than travelling from the airport’s GA precinct. When an on-airport connection is preferable, our Brisbane Airport relationships provide access through FBO facilities. We will recommend the option that best fits the onward journey.

Gold Coast Airport is an established airport departure point for our charters. After booking, the confirmation email identifies the correct meeting place and arrival instructions for your flight. If you need help finding the aircraft on the day, you can contact your pilot directly.

Yes. Bekaa Air regularly plans cross-border sectors to Byron Bay, Ballina and other New South Wales destinations. The operating team manages the route, airspace and interstate flight-planning requirements as part of the charter.

Seating configurations range from three passengers in the R44 to five in the H125, six in the H130 and Bell LongRanger, and seven in the Bell 429. Those figures are seat counts rather than guaranteed loads because weights, luggage, fuel, route and conditions determine the safe capacity on the day. Subject to those calculations and aircraft availability, coordinated multi-helicopter movements can carry groups of approximately 20–25 people.

There is no formal minimum age, although we generally suggest waiting until a child is at least 12 months old. An infant under three must use an approved restraint or may be held by an adult only where the aircraft’s approved seating and restraint configuration allows it; every child over three requires a separate seat. Bekaa Air is the only Brisbane helicopter operator with a fully aviation-approved child booster seat, offered when it suits both child and aircraft. Headsets are supplied, and hearing protection is recommended for every child.

No. Pets are not carried on our private-hire flights because the cabin configuration and operating requirements are not suitable. The policy protects the cabin environment, aircraft interior and safety of the flight.

The three-passenger R44 is an efficient piston option, while turbine aircraft including the Bell LongRanger and H125 provide greater power, smoother performance and more capability for payload, longer sectors and suitable off-field operations. Our aircraft also offer air conditioning for Queensland conditions and premium noise-cancelling headsets. We recommend the helicopter that best balances the route, passenger load, baggage and desired comfort.

Yes, where access can be arranged. We work with properties across the Scenic Rim, Gold Coast hinterland and Sunshine Coast, and can coordinate permission with a nominated winery, resort or boutique venue before planning the landing.

Yes, primarily for professional aerial photography and filming. The R44 and H125 are generally used for these operations. Tell us when enquiring, as the selected helicopter must be configured and the required equipment removed before it leaves the hangar.

No. Our single-engine charter operations fly under CASA Day VFR (Visual Flight Rules), requiring the helicopter to land at least 10 minutes before absolute sunset. We therefore plan every private-hire sector within daylight hours.

When Bekaa Air cancels because of weather or safety, you may reschedule or receive a full refund. A customer cancellation generally needs at least 24 hours’ notice to qualify for a refund; cancelling inside 24 hours may result in the booking fee being forfeited.

Yes. A private-hire itinerary can combine several pickups, an intermediate destination, ground time, one-way sectors and a later return. Depending on the site and duration, the aircraft may remain with you or depart and come back. Provide the complete schedule so the quote can account for access, helicopter time and the most practical operating plan.

Low cloud, significant rain or strong winds can make helicopter travel unsuitable. In that situation, Bekaa Air may delay the departure, arrange another date or issue a full refund according to the circumstances. The pilot retains the final decision on whether conditions are safe to fly.
