Gold Coast Airport is our confirmed airport departure point, while Sanctuary Cove and Gold Coast Turf Club are available by request and subject to operational confirmation. We also operate through Holt Street Jetty Heliport in Brisbane, where Bekaa Air holds exclusive landing access, and Tangalooma, where we are the helicopter operator of choice.

Often, yes. Our pilots assess the surface, slope, surrounding buildings and trees, powerlines, approach and departure paths, and nearby people or livestock—not simply the size of the landing area. Written permission from the landowner is required before we can confirm the flight. Enter the address into our charter planner and submit the route for our operations team to assess.

We prepare the final written quote after confirming aircraft availability, positioning, landing access, passenger weights, luggage, fuel and any special requirements. Bring what your journey requires and we’ll help select the right aircraft. Soft-sided duffel bags are preferred because they fit helicopter storage compartments more safely and efficiently. The R44 is suited to lighter luggage, while our larger turbine aircraft provide considerably more baggage space. Tell us about suitcases, golf clubs, prams or other bulky items when requesting your charter.

Passenger weights determine aircraft selection and usable seating capacity, not whether we can accommodate your charter. The R44 has a maximum individual passenger weight of 130 kg. Our larger turbine aircraft do not share that same limit, but every helicopter must remain within payload and balance limits, so the safe passenger count can vary with weights, luggage and fuel. We request accurate individual weights and handle that information discreetly.

Bekaa Air has maintained a flawless safety record and operates under an Air Operator’s Certificate issued by CASA, supported by a formal Safety Management System. Our helicopters are maintained to commercial operating standards and our flights are planned and operated by commercially licensed pilots. Before departure, we assess weather, landing locations, passenger and luggage weights, fuel requirements and operational risks. If conditions are unsuitable, we delay, reroute or do not operate.

Booking earlier gives you the widest choice of aircraft and departure times. We recommend allowing two to four weeks for weddings and major events. Corporate transfers can often be arranged with 24–48 hours’ notice, and same-day charters may be possible depending on aircraft, pilot, weather and landing availability. Yes. We regularly operate cross-border routes to Byron Bay, Ballina and other destinations in New South Wales. Our team handles the flight planning and airspace requirements for interstate travel.

Our helicopters have seating for up to three passengers in the R44, five in the H125, six in the H130 and Bell LongRanger, and seven in the Bell 429. These are seating capacities rather than guaranteed loads; the safe number for each flight depends on individual weights, luggage, fuel, route and operating conditions. For larger groups, we can coordinate multiple aircraft for approximately 20–25 passengers, subject to those calculations and aircraft availability.

There is no minimum age, although we generally recommend waiting until a child is at least 12 months old. Infants under three must use an approved restraint or be held by an adult where the aircraft’s approved seating and restraint configuration permits; children over three need their own seat. Bekaa Air is the only Brisbane helicopter operator with a fully aviation-approved child booster seat, available when suitable for the child and aircraft. We also provide headsets and recommend hearing protection for every child.

No. Our charter flights do not carry pets because of cabin configuration and safety requirements. This protects both the cabin environment and the aircraft interior.

The R44 is a cost-effective piston helicopter carrying up to three passengers. Turbine aircraft such as the Bell LongRanger and H125 offer more power, smoother performance and greater capability for payload and off-field operations. A turbine is often the better fit for longer routes or heavier loads.

Yes. We work with venues throughout the Gold Coast hinterland, Scenic Rim and Sunshine Coast. If you have a particular resort, winery or boutique property in mind, we can coordinate the required permissions and plan a suitable landing.

Yes, chiefly for aerial photography and filming. Doors-off work is generally carried out in the R44 or H125. Request it when booking because the aircraft must be prepared and equipment removed before it leaves the hangar.

Yes. Our aircraft have air-conditioning systems for Queensland conditions, along with premium noise-cancelling headsets for a more comfortable flight.

No. Single-engine helicopter charter operates under CASA Day VFR (Visual Flight Rules), so we must plan to land at least 10 minutes before absolute sunset. All charter flights are therefore scheduled within daylight hours.

If we cancel for weather or safety reasons, you can reschedule or receive a full refund. If you cancel, we generally require at least 24 hours’ notice for a refund. A cancellation within 24 hours of departure may forfeit the booking fee.

Yes. We can build in multiple pickup points, intermediate stops, waiting time, one-way sectors and returns. Depending on the location and length of your stay, the helicopter may wait or leave and return later. Send us the full itinerary and we’ll recommend the most practical plan, including landing access, aircraft time and associated costs in the quote.

Helicopter operations are weather-dependent. If low cloud, heavy rain or strong winds make the flight unsafe, we will delay, reschedule or provide a full refund, depending on the circumstances. Your pilot makes the final safety decision before departure.
