Most charters have a minimum charge that depends on aircraft type and where the aircraft needs to position from. When you request a quote, we’ll confirm the minimums (if any) up front so there are no surprises.

Bekaa Air offers Brisbane’s broadest charter pickup network. Depart from our Archerfield Airport base, Channel 10 Helipad at Mount Coot-tha, Redcliffe Airport or Holt Street Jetty Heliport, where we hold exclusive landing access. We can also coordinate Brisbane Airport departures through our established FBO relationships, and Bekaa Air is Tangalooma’s helicopter operator of choice.

Often, yes. Suitability depends on more than the size of the landing area—our pilots also assess the surface, slope, surrounding buildings and trees, powerlines, approach and departure paths, and nearby people or livestock. Written permission from the landowner is required before the flight can be confirmed. No. The planner provides indicative estimates on many of our popular routes so you can understand the likely cost before making an enquiry. Your final written quote is prepared after our operations team confirms aircraft availability, positioning, landing access, passenger weights, luggage, fuel and any special requirements. If an instant estimate is unavailable for your route, submit it anyway and we’ll price it individually.

Bring what the journey calls for—we’ll help match the aircraft accordingly. Soft-sided duffel bags are preferred because they fit more safely and efficiently into helicopter storage compartments. The R44 is best suited to lighter luggage, while our larger turbine aircraft offer considerably more baggage space. Tell us about suitcases, golf clubs, prams or other bulky items when requesting your charter so we can recommend the right aircraft.

Passenger weight affects aircraft selection and seating capacity, not whether we can accommodate your charter. The R44 has a maximum individual passenger weight of 130 kg. Our larger turbine aircraft do not share that same limit, but every helicopter must remain within its payload and balance limits—so an aircraft normally carrying five passengers may carry fewer depending on passenger weights, luggage and fuel requirements. We request accurate individual weights so our operations team can select the safest suitable aircraft, and all information is handled discreetly.

Bekaa Air has maintained a flawless safety record and operates under an Air Operator’s Certificate issued by CASA, supported by a formal Safety Management System. Our helicopters are maintained to commercial operating standards, and every flight is planned and operated by commercially licensed pilots. We assess weather, landing locations, passenger and luggage weights, fuel requirements and operational risks before departure. If conditions are not suitable, we delay, reroute or do not operate the flight.

The earlier you enquire, the greater your choice of aircraft and departure times. For weddings and major events, we recommend booking two to four weeks ahead. Corporate transfers can often be arranged with 24–48 hours’ notice, while same-day charters may be possible depending on aircraft, pilot, weather and landing availability. We can assist with time-critical movements to and from BNE, subject to approvals and operational considerations. We’ll advise the most practical pickup option, confirm any access requirements/fees, and coordinate the timing so it runs cleanly on the day.

Yes. We frequently fly cross-border routes including Brisbane to Byron Bay, Ballina and other NSW destinations. We handle flight planning and airspace requirements for interstate travel.

Our helicopters are configured with seating for up to three passengers in the R44, five in the H125, six in the H130 and Bell LongRanger, and seven in the Bell 429. These figures are seating capacities, not guaranteed passenger loads. The number we can safely carry on a particular flight depends on individual passenger weights, luggage, fuel, route and operating conditions. For larger groups, we can coordinate multiple aircraft to move approximately 20–25 passengers, subject to those flight-specific calculations and aircraft availability.

There is no minimum age, although we generally recommend waiting until a child is at least 12 months old. Infants under three must use an approved restraint or be held by an adult where the aircraft’s approved seating and restraint configuration permits; children over three require their own seat. Bekaa Air is the only Brisbane helicopter operator with a fully aviation-approved child booster seat, which we can provide when suitable for the child and aircraft. We also provide headsets and recommend hearing protection for every child.

No. Due to safety requirements and cabin configuration, we do not carry pets on our charter flights. This keeps the cabin safe and the aircraft interior protected.

The R44 is a piston helicopter (cost-effective, 3 passengers). Turbine helicopters (LongRanger / H125) provide more power, smoother performance and greater capability for payload and off-field operations. For longer trips or heavier loads, turbines are often the best fit.

Absolutely. We work with venues across the Scenic Rim, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast hinterland. If you have a specific property or boutique venue in mind, we can coordinate permissions and organise a suitable landing plan.

Yes, primarily for aerial photography or filming missions. This is usually done in the R44 or H125. Please request this at the time of booking as it requires removing equipment before the aircraft leaves the hangar.

Yes. Our aircraft are equipped with air-conditioning systems and premium noise-cancelling headsets to keep you comfortable in Queensland conditions.

No. Single-engine helicopter charter is restricted to Day VFR (Visual Flight Rules) under CASA regulations. This means we must plan to land at least 10 minutes before absolute sunset, and all flights are scheduled within daylight hours.

If we cancel due to weather/safety, you receive a full refund or reschedule. If you cancel, we generally require at least 24 hours’ notice for a refund. Cancellations within 24 hours of flight time may forfeit the booking fee.

Yes. We can plan multiple pickup points, intermediate stops, waiting time, one-way flights and returns. Depending on the location and length of your stay, the helicopter may wait for you or depart and return later. Send us the complete itinerary and we’ll recommend the most practical option, then include the required landing access, aircraft time and associated costs in your quote.

Aviation is weather-dependent. If low cloud, heavy rain, or strong winds prevent a safe flight, we will delay, reschedule, or offer a full refund (depending on the scenario). Your pilot makes the final safety call before departure.
